Siltcoos Lake:

The largest lake on the central Oregon coast is also one of the region’s best fishing lakes, especially for warm water fish including largemouth bass.

and is one of the few lakes in Oregon where you can keep a wild coho salmon in season.

Siltcoos Lake is a sprawling 3,164 acres located between Florence and Reedsport in the wonderful dune country of the central coastline.

Siltcoos is one of the most celebrated largemouth bass fisheries in Oregon.

You’ll find tons of good bass cover all over the lake, including fallen trees, drop-offs.

Crappie also hang out around structure and found in shallower water during the spring.

Siltcoos is known to have good populations of less-pursued species including yellow perch, sunfish and bullhead catfish.

Trout are not the primary quarry for anglers here, but the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife does stock a modest number of rainbow trout here. Look for those plantings to take place in late winter or early spring (March and April are good times to check the stocking schedule linked below).

Native cutthroat trout also live in the lake and its tributary streams and may be kept as part of your daily trout limit.

The coho salmon fishery here opens in October and runs through December. Fishing for these fish is usually not productive until significant rainfall draws in these large fish, which most often happens in November.

There are a modest number of coho caught and kept here, but it’s a fairly unique opportunity. Boaters catch most of the adult coho, often by trolling wobbling lures in the creek channels the salmon use to return to their home streams.

experience the unique natural wonders of this area. Bring your camera!

Beautiful Home, poor support
3/5 stars
We really enjoyed our stay here. The house is lovely, clean, and very well equipped. The amenities were wonderful, those that worked. We loved the lake, the dock, the patio, the deck, and the kayaks. There was a fun ping pong table in the garage and an air hocky table in the den. The beds were very nice and comfortable, in fact everything was nice and comfortable except for a couple of things and those two things became a bit annoying. The two annoying things were the heat system and the hot tub. We stayed in September and the weather was variable. Sometimes it was quite hot and sometimes it was cold but the heating system is not variable. It was set at 69 degrees at night and 70 degrees during the day and it was locked. I contacted the host using the "contact host" message board to see if we could turn off the heat on the hot days so we could allow some natural cooling overnight to cool the house for the coming day. They did not respond. The second annoying thing was that they have a lovely hot tub which doesn't work and they did not respond to my requests for service. It would have been nice to have the use of the hot tub as it was one of the amenities promised in the listing which led me to choose this listing. We stayed for 9 days and they finally responded on day 7 and said they would look into the hot tub situation but they had not done anything by the time we left. I loved the home but the support was abysmal.

Amazing home
5/5 stars
What an amazing home for a family vacation. The view of the lake is beautiful, all the fun games like ping pong, air hockey and corn hole made for some fun family memories. The options for fire pits was fantastic too. Everything about this home was perfect. We will be coming back for sure

Great Accommodations
5/5 stars
Our family spent 6 days at Peaceful Waters and this property provided everything we needed. The house was very clean and spacious with a beautiful view of Siltcoos Lake, included quality amenities, and the private dock kept our boat secure when moored. Definitely recommend!

Amazing and well-appointed property
5/5 stars
This is a really amazing property with a ton of amenities. The front yard has a picnic table and covered outdoor grill area. The hot tub is really nice, with a lot of different settings, and an ideal view of the lake. There is outdoor seating for 15+ on the upper and lower decks. A lot of games, books, tvs in each bedroom, etc. The air conditioning units in each bedroom were great as the house itself can get a little warm. The kitchen has a lot of really great appliances and tables settings for 15+. There are three kayaks (but only two sets of paddles) and about a dozen life jackets. The areas is very quiet and the lake is amazing!

Wonderful Home
5/5 stars
Prior to arriving at Peaceful Waters, we had spent a week on the northern Oregon Coast in a location we love, but the house left much to be desired in the area of upkeep, beds, and furniture. What an absolute delight to arrive at Peaceful Waters. The house is immaculately maintained. It’s beautiful inside and out. Everything is nice and very comfortable, the decorations, the furniture, and the beds. All the decor made me smile, from the woven fish hanging in the reading nook to the hanging bed lamps in the downstairs bedroom. They gave equal care and attention to the several outdoor seating areas they have provided, as well as a beautiful path down to the lake. And finally, the lake views are amazing from the outdoor sitting areas as well as from almost every room of the house. We highly recommend this home.

Beautiful House, Beautiful Views
4/5 stars
Beautiful House, Beautiful Views! Close enough to town to be able to go get any last minute stuff you may have forgotten, but far enough away to not worry about anything. The house was plenty big enough, with plenty to do. Kitchen was very well stocked with everything you may need to cook. Walk down to the water is kinda long, but it’s a nice path. Only downsides : Hot tub turned green on night 2, and had a bunch of nasty floating stuff so we didn’t get to use it as much as we would have wanted. And the water pressure in the showers is awful.

2 TIMES PERFECTION
5/5 stars
This is our second stay at Peaceful Waters in 2023 and we have already booked for 2024! The home is situated on Siltcoos lake and provides stunning views, lake front access, a dock, and three levels of patios with group seating at each patio. In addition, there are two fire pits, one with propane and one with natural wood burning. The home is beautifully and practically decorated with all amenities needed. Florence, Oregon has been a tradition for our family for four generation! It started 67 years ago with my in-laws and we have never missed a year. It's a joy to bring them and reminisce about the memories we have created. We have stayed at many locations over the years and Peaceful Waters is hands down the best. Overall, you can't go wrong with staying at the wonderful, comfortable, and welcoming home. ____Heather

Family time
5/5 stars
Great home, everything you need is supplied.View of lake is outstanding! Kids enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit . TV’s in all the rooms so everyone was pleased. The only downside was the lake and dock was a lot further down the hill than the pictures looked. This is not a negative just FYI We would rent again when it’s time to get the family together! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home.

Lakeside Family Fun Week
5/5 stars
This place had it all. From private dock to fully stocked Kayaks, this home had all the amenities you could ask for to keep ages 3-60 years old happy and busy. Indoor activities include ping pong, air hockey and a fully stocked kitchen. Outdoor activities included cornhole, fire pit, spa and so much more. Great week spent visiting family. Best of both worlds staying by the lake and being so close to Florence and the ocean.

Great family reunion

EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS
5/5 stars
We are beyond pleased with our stay at Peaceful Waters! The property is beautiful and immaculately maintained. The view is stunning and can be enjoyed from multiple deck and patio seating areas including two fire pits with ample chairs and tables. Relaxing in the hot tub with the lake view was a highlight! The home is spacious, comfortable and very clean. I'm very impressed with the attention to details big and small. The kitchen supplies are excellent quality and everything you could possibly need. So many nice touches like extra linens, multiple charging stations for electronics, portable bluetooth speakers, popcorn, coffee, tea, marshmallow roasting sticks, games ,books and so much more. You have quick access to HWY 101 and ample parking. We will defiantly stay here again! Heather
