Sunnyside is a 2-minute walk to a fabulous private neighborhood boat launch - soft sand access is just 2 houses down the street. The small craft launch leads to the protected bay encircled by Plum Island - so tame waters for all types of paddlers: bring your kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards.

Sunnyside is the perfect couple's getaway. One is drawn to the outside space – a fenced in yard with 2 decks – the wrap-around deck in the yard, and the side deck accessed by the sliding glass doors.

- Enjoy sunset views with wine and cheese at bistro set on the side deck.

- Dine at the spacious outdoor dining table.

- Catch rays as you lounge on the chaises in the private back yard.

As you enter Sunnyside, you are welcomed by a cozy modern beachy space. In the open living room, guests enjoy a large daybed with tons of pillows – perfect for snuggling while watching your favorite streaming show on the 55inch Smart TV.

The kitchen provides all the accoutrements to cook -plenty of counter space for preparing those fabulous romantic meals: an electric stove for easy cooking; a full size fridge to hold all that food, and a table for those glorious vacation breakfasts. The kitchen is fully furnished with all the dishes, glassware and cooking accoutrements. Lobster dinner anyone?

The kitchen has great storage – a large baker’s rack helps guests easily find pots, pans, serving pieces, and small appliances. Accoutrements also include a combination air-fryer, convection, and microwave oven, a Keurig coffee maker for each guest to make their preferred coffee, and a blender for those fabulous frozen drinks. Let’s not forget the gas grill!

For dining, guests have 2 choices, indoors the dining table comfortably seats 4 – plenty of space for a gourmet or casual meal. Similarly, Sunnyside offers spacious alfresco dining at the table for 4 on the wrap-around deck and the bistro set on the side deck.

Sunnyside is ready to host that special summer get-away. Sunnyside offers great amenities! The outdoor space is wonderful! The private deck is surrounded by a fenced yard. The side deck offers marsh and sunset view. Enjoy cooking on the gas grill and dining alfresco!

While the yard is sunny all day long, the eaves provide a bright yet shady home. The side deck with the gracefully overhanging mature tree, means you can enjoy outdoors in the shade as well.

Want some quiet time? The chaise lounges beckon - put your feet up and read with your eyes closed.

Ready for bed? Then head into the bedroom. The queen bed is bookended by two bedside tables with bedside lamps. The Window AC keeps you cool during those hot and hazy summer days.

Hi Speed Wi-Fi helps with the workcations! The spacious desk, with work lamp and desk chair, make it easy to keep up with work while also keeping work out of sight!

Sunnyside offers 1 spacious full bath. The bath includes a combination tub and shower. Take a soak in the deep tub.

Plum Island is a 6-mile long barrier beach that extends south of Newburyport. Most of it makes up the Parker River Wildlife Refuge, which is visited seasonally by nearly 300 bird species.

Walking on a beach across a National Wildlife Refuge, hearing the waves crashing on long, sandy beaches, watching birds and deer nearby…

A walk is a nice introduction to the extraordinary diversity of the Plum Island scenery. Take a walk both on the beach and on the main Refuge road, which offers wonderful views on the Plum Island River marshes and the Broad Sound.

Plum Island creates a nice protected bay which leads to marshes along the Parker River - take a kayak or paddleboard tour through the marshes.

Sunnyside provides high-speed internet services.  Internet services have been shown to meet the needs of guests traveling for both work and pleasure.

As a token of our appreciation, a Welcome Pack awaits you in the fridge.  

Beds are made with freshly laundered linens. Clean towels for each registered guest are placed on the beds. Please bring your own beach towels. Each accommodation comes with  starter pack of 1 roll of paper towels, each bathroom will have at least 1 spare roll of toilet paper.  A starter pack of coffee, cleaning supplies, and hand soap is also provided.

Items you should bring with you: Extra paper products, beach towels, beach chairs, sunscreen, toiletries, food, beverages, and any other essentials and assundries to make your vacation enjoyable.
 
 
The City of Newbury offers paid parking lots.  You can download the Passport Parking app and have the ability to pay for parking without leaving the comforts of Sunnyside.  Below please find some useful information on the pay by plate kiosks, times of operations, locations, and more.
 
WHERE ARE THE PAY BY PLATE KIOSKS? 
 
There are one or more kiosks in each parking lot. There is an easily identifiable sign “Pay Here” above each kiosk. 
  • Pay at the kiosk, with cash or credit card 
  • Pay by phone, through the Passport Parking App, available on these Play Store and Apple App Store.
     
Kiosks operate 24 hours/day

Free parking lots are at the Train Station and 2 Blue Lane Road on Rt 127.  
During the winter, meters and kiosk parking is free.  All seasons, on-street parking outside of the meter and kiosk areas are free.
 

Newburyport Plum Island Public Parking lot is able to accommodate 150 vehicles. This lot is at the far North End of the Island. Enter the parking lot using the entrance adjacent to 278 Northern Blvd, Newburyport, MA 01950. Entrance through Reservation Terrace will not be permitted and any vehicles found entering there are subject to fines and towing.

Non-Resident fees: are  Weekday $15, Weekends & Holidays $20
Newburyport Resident (w/ sticker) fees are: Weekday $15, Weekends & Holidays $12

Note: If you arrive before the lot attendant is on duty, an envelope will be placed on your car and your information will be recorded. You can pay the price on the envelope when exiting the lot or simply put your payment in the envelope and add a stamp and mail it to our office. Failure to pay an envelope within two weeks of parking will result in additional fees and potentially a citation.

Privately Owned Plum Island Parking is located at center island at 26 Plum Island Turnpike, Newbury, MA 01951 Fees vary on the season $5-$25 for the day.  This is a 2 minute walk to the ocean beach.

Privately Owned Public Parking, with lift gate, is located just around the corner, going north of Plum Island Parking.  Fees vary on the season $5-$25.  This is a 1 minute walk to the beach

The Cottage (convenience store)- 14 Plum Island Turnpike provides beach parking from $5-$25 depending on the season. Go inside The Cottage to pay and get a ticket.

Parking Lot 1 - located inside the Refuge - Fee is a daily rate or get a $20 season pass (best deal).  This lot may be closed in the summer when the Piping Plover's are nesting.

Note: There is no parking on any residential Plum Island streets.  Please do not park in the Georgie Peorgie's At The Beachfront parking lot located at Center Island - this is reserved for Newbury residents only, with parking permits.

Good Neighbors honor the right of Sunnyside’s neighbors to peacefully enjoy their homes. iTrip North Shore's guests will:
  1. Respect Quiet Hours: Quiet Hours are dictated by local rules and ordinances.  Unless specified otherwise, quiet hours are between 10PM and 8AM. 
  2. Not Host Events or Parties: without express written approval from iTrip North Shore, do not host any parties or events. 
  3. Follow the Law: do not do anything illegal.
  4. Respect Boundaries: Do not encroach into the neighbors’ space, including but not limited to yards, gardens, decks, patios, and parking spaces.  Do not use neighbors’ amenities or take neighbor’s property, such as: furniture, grills, pools, spas, etc.
  5. Follow Parking Instructions: Please follow all parking instructions and only use those spaces allotted to Sunnyside.
Respectful Visitors: remember you are renting a private home; iTrip North Shore guests will treat Sunnyside with the same or more respect that they would like shown to their belongings:
  1. Prudent Use: instructions on how to use appliances and amenities are provided.  Please use all items for their intended purpose and per instructions.  Please contact iTrip Vacations North Shore Massachusetts if you have any questions.
  2. Be Neat and Caring: please do pick up after yourselves; put trash and recycling in proper bins, do the dishes, use coasters, and leave the furniture where it belongs. 
  3. Park in Designated Areas: Please do park in driveways, parking pads and garages.  Please do not park on lawns or in gardens.
  4. Do Not Smoke or Vape: smoking or vaping of anything: cigarettes, pipes, cigars, or marijuana, requires special remediation to remove the aroma.
  5. Do Not Tamper with Safety Sensors: iTrip North Shore homes come equipped with a variety of safety sensors, such as: exterior cameras, noise monitoring, smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, and more.  Respectful guests do not tamper with the owner's safety sensors.
  6. Be Careful: where there are wet area amenities such as waterfronts, docks, pools, or hot tubs, please take care to secure the areas and take appropriate precautions.
  7. Return Keys/Passes/Remotes: please return items as described in Check-out instructions.   
Please know that violating House Rules is grounds for terminating our agreement.
