Would you like a vacation home where you can look over a lake from your hot tub, see the stars from your bed at night and enjoy the beach? How about some fishing from right below your balcony? Miniature golf, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, the Sandy Harbor family fun center, cafe, and convenience store in walking distance? Here's a unique vacation home in the popular Ocean Lakes destination. This two bedroom, two bath house has it all, hot tub, skylights, excellent decorating and furnishings, parking space, all on a serene lakefront setting just minutes from the beach and all the amenities Ocean Lakes has to offer PLUS access to your own golf cart.

The master bedroom has a king size bed and TV, from there you can see the stars through a "greenhouse" skylight. The second bedroom has a queen size bed and TV. There is a daybed with a trundle bed below and a TV off the living room. The updated kitchen has granite countertops, a smooth top range, and refrigerator with ice dispenser in the door. There is a full complement of cookware, utensils, dishes, glasses, and tableware. There are a dining table and breakfast bar. The living room is tastefully furnished and decorated, it looks out onto Lake Emily. Four sliding glass doors let the sunshine and serenity in. The balcony outside has a table for six and just below is the hot tub, for you and your family to relax and enjoy the lake view. Lake Emily is stocked, so enjoy some fishing or just feed the ducks from the rope swing chairs shaded by the balcony.

Ocean Lakes is a complete vacation destination. The Sandy Harbor family fun center has the "Splash Zone" water park and game center that kids always love. The Nature Center can provide learning during vacation. There are several playgrounds near the beach, an Olympic size outdoor swimming pool, an indoor swimming pool for year round enjoyment, a convenience store, Sandy's Meet and Eat restaurant, the Sandy Harbor cafe, and the "snack shack" to grab a bite.

Ocean Lakes charges $12 per vehicle per day for admission and parking per car if pass is purchased 10 days in advance, $15 per day if not. This must be paid directly to Ocean Lakes and is not included in our cost quote. Guests must agree to follow Ocean Lakes golf cart rules (signed waiver through iTrip) and if a violation occurs there will be a $1,500 fine assessed.

Ocean Lakes is perfect for a family vacation, away from the traffic and crowds, but still, a short drive to the wide variety of attractions, shopping, dining, and entertainment the Grand Strand has to offer. Luxury shopping and dining are a few minutes north in the Market Commons area. Just a short drive north is all the attractions and shopping of Myrtle Beach, Broadway at the Beach, Coastal Grand shopping center, the Myrtle Beach boardwalk, and one of the world's largest Ferris wheels. For a unique cultural experience, Brookgreen Gardens displays one of the world's largest collections of sculpture by American artists in a lush outdoor setting, along with a zoo and butterfly garden, it's just a few minutes south.

Frequently Asked Questions

In most cases, no.  If you find beach chairs or other beach items in the property, you are welcome to use them.  However, most owners advise that their beach chairs were left on the beach too often.  
Pets are not permitted at many of our properties.  In most cases, HOA rules prohibited guests from bringing pets, even though owners are permitted to.  We have a few properties where we can consider allowing a small dog - NO cats.  The dog must be at least a year old, and weigh less than 30 pounds (two properties are limited to 20 pound dogs).  These are clearly marked "allows pets" and a non-refundable rent surcharge of $200 ($300 for two small dogs) is required.  Please contact us with information about your dog before booking a reservation - at which time we can approve your dog, add the animal surcharge to your reservation and collect said surcharge if you booked the property through a 3rd party affiliate.

 
Cancellation refunds are only made after (and if) the period is re-rented, less a $100 cancellation fee.  If you are concerned about needing to cancel please consider travel insurance; it covers cancellation for a wide range of reasons, along with many additional benefits.  
Our check-in time is 4pm at our office. Approval for a late check in will be granted in EXTREMELY RARE CIRCUMSTANCES. If one is granted, the renter must return to the check-in office the following day before 2pm to complete the check-in process.  This includes the renter showing ID to confirm identity and that he/she meets the minimum age requirement. There will be a $100 charge if this is not completed.
The person renting any property must be 25 or older, have a valid credit card, and be present throughout the rental period.  The renter will be responsible for the actions of and damage caused by everyone in the group.  Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of reservation deposit, damage deposit, and/or balance of rental payment.
WiFi internet access is provided in all of our properties.  Security and connection speed vary widely.  The HOA systems typically do not require a password.  If you have important business or financial matters to transact, consider bringing a mobile WiFi connection device of your own.  Connection speeds may not be fast enough to support streaming movies, music or video games.  
Parking is limited at all oceanfront condominium complexes.  We can only provide the number of parking passes the HOA rules permit.  In most cases, no more than two parking passes can be provided.  We are limited to one parking pass per unit at Horizon East, Afterdeck, and for one and two bedroom units at Waters Edge.  

There aren't any free public parking lots near the beach.  Surfside Beach has some metered parking along Ocean Boulevard and some lots.  

The rental includes the parking passes available, but does not guarantee the availability of parking space.  Parking is managed by the property manager, we have no control over the parking lot or parking space.  
For violation of any of the proceeding rules, tenant and all other occupants will be evicted according to South Carolina law with forfeiture of all monies.  In addition, outside of Airbnb rules and restrictions, all guests agree to the iTrip Vacations Myrtle Beach South Rental Agreement.
  • The reservation must be in the name of someone who is at least 25 years old. This person must also be in the rental the entire length of the stay. Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of all monies paid.
  • Check-in is 4pm at our office. Approval for a late check in will be granted if notified in advance. If one is granted, the renter must return to the office next day to complete the check-in process.  This includes renter showing ID to confirm minimum age requirement. There will be a $100 charge if this is not completed. 
  • PLEASE NOTE: if you are booking on Airbnb: Airbnb puts the Admin Fee, Limited Damage Waiver Fee, Cleaning & Linen Fee all together and calls it the CLEANING FEE. That's why the cleaning fee appears to be high but it is not that high. We hope this helps.
  • We do not rent to house parties and/or groups including, but not limited to, fraternity/sorority, graduation, or spring break.  
  • If evidence of a pet(s) is found in the unit or on the premises and your rental does not include advance permission and pet fee, you will be required to vacate immediately with no refund.
  • Smoking is not allowed in the properties. 
  • Each property's max occupancy is stated in the rental agreement and is located in the property's description.
  • No barbeque grills of any kind are permitted on balconies or inside the unit. No open flames, ie. candles, are permitted on balconies or in the unit.
  • There is no daily maid service. Linens and towels are included and are not to be taken from the unit. Additional cleaning fees will be due in the event that cleaning involves the removal of excessive sand, trash or other unusual conditions.
  • No compensation will be given for temporary outage of electricity, gas, water, cable, or internet service. Outages should be reported immediately and all efforts will be made to have them restored as soon as possible.
  • Tenant agrees to leave the premises and its contents in the same neat and tidy condition as Tenant found the premises to be upon move-in.
  • Tenant agrees to abide by the rules of the HOA applicable to the property. Violations that result in expense, fines or limitation of the rights of the owner will be charged to the Tenant's credit card.
  • Owner or owner's agents may enter the premises under the following circumstances: In case of an emergency; to make any necessary or agreed upon repairs, alterations, or improvements; or to supply necessary or agreed upon services or show the premises to prospective purchasers, renters or contractors. Owner will provide renter with at least 24 hours' notice of owners intent to enter (except in the case of an emergency). Pest control personnel must be admitted (refusal is not permitted).
  • We supply the number of parking hangtags or other credentials permitted by property manager or Home Owners Association rules at each complex.  We cannot control parking, and cannot guarantee the availablity of parking space at any particular time.  This rental includes parking credentials, but not parking space.  Parking at Horizon East, Cape Coddages One and Afterdeck is limited to one vehicle per unit during the summer months.  No boats, jet skis, trailers, golf carts or RVs at any property unless specifically permitted.
  • Furnishings are not to be removed from the premises for use outside or in other properties.
  • Neither iTrip nor the Owner assume any liability for loss, damage or injury to persons or their personal property. Neither does Owner accept any liability for any inconveniences, damage, loss or injury arising from any temporary defects or stoppage in supply of water, gas, cable service, electricity or plumbing, weather conditions, natural disasters, acts of God, or other reasons beyond its control.
  • Tenant hereby acknowledges that the premises they have reserved may include a community pool and the undersigned agrees and acknowledges that the community pool and patio/deck can be dangerous areas, that the deck/patio can be slippery when wet, and that injury may occur to anyone who is not careful. With full knowledge of the above facts and warnings, the undersigned Tenant accepts and assumes all risks involved to Tenant and all of Tenant's guests in or related to the use of the community pool and patio areas.
Surfside Beach City ordinance prohibits dogs on the beach between May 15 and September 15. South Shores HOA will CONSIDER small dogs to accompany tenants between LABOR DAY and MEMORIAL DAY. They are NOT permitted during the peak summer months which are June, July and August. There is a maximum of two(2) dogs considered and each must be under 30lb. There is a $200 charge for the first and $300 for two. You MUST have your pet approved by iTrip Vacations Myrtle Beach South in order for them to stay in any of our properties. Tenant MUST contact us with age, weight and breed via email- at which time we will approve or deny stay request.  If stay is approved the pet fee will be added to your reservation and must be paid before arrival. If stay is denied the pet may NOT enter our property at any time!

Let's start off with the good things.. The house was great and couldn't have been in a better location. The view of the lake was outstanding. The house is well stocked with all the items needed for a comfortable stay. However the heater on the deck needs to be removed or replaced. The pics on the web show it as being there and operational. also the outdoor grill is on it's last leg. Don't get me wrong this place was awesome and we plan on coming back next year. A shout out to Mandy at Itrips thanks for all your help.

First I can’t stress enough how Mandy from ITrip was amazing!!! It was like having an Alexa for vacation issues lol. The house was amazing! So clean, best location, get a golf cart, outside shower to rinse off, hot tub, places to fish off of deck I seriously can go on and on!! If I had any complaint it would be that the bathroom sink in the second floor bathroom drains way to slow, seriously that’s my only complaint lol! We had a minor issue with the hot tub looking a little off color. I texted Mandy and within an hour someone was there treating it. I can’t thank this home owner enough for sharing his/her lovely home with our family to make memories we will cherish for years. We will be returning next year! Thanks Mandy for all your help! Beautiful home with breath taking views!

Everything about this home was perfect for my husband and I. The views from the deck and hot tub were beautiful, the home was very clean and spacious, the beds were comfortable, all in all everything was absolutely amazing. We booked the house on a last minutes decision and notice, and we are so glad we did & thankful for the owners for approving our stay. This will forever be our go to home when staying in Ocean Lakes!

We had an amazing time in this beautiful home!! Honestly the pictures don't do this home justice. It is so pretty and CLEAN when you walk in. Its's very spacious and the decor is stylish and beachy. The king bed in the master was so soft and comfortable, I slept like a baby ( and that never happens when I go away, I usually toss and turn all night). The view of the lake is to die for and we spent many days and nights out there enjoying the view and greeting our little swan friend when she would come to visit us. To top it off there is a very large, very clean hot tub on the deck overlooking the lake and we soaked in it every night under the stars. I really fell in love with this home and really didn't want to leave. It was just so perfect. Even now when I look at the pictures I feel a little sad because I miss that beautiful view and the pretty home. If we didn't live so far I would come and stay a lot more! I highly recommend this little gem, you won't be disappointed. And having the golf car to use was a bonus!!!

Everything about the house and trip was almost perfect. Our only complaint was how dirty the house. You could tell someone had been there to restock the toiletries and paper products but nothing looked like it was clean. The floors were dirty, dust covering the fans, the countertops were not wiped down etc. Otherwise the house itself was perfect for what we needed and it was a great location. The porch has a beautiful view.

We strive to give each guest the absolute best experience they can have and take pride in each and every one of our properties. As with any service industry, there can and will be bumps along the way and the best show of service is when those bumps are remedied in a quick and acceptable manner. We would have LOVED the opportunity to make this right for you, but unfortuantely did not know about this issue until after you left. We include two contact numbers in each check-in packet for guests to use during their stay - the emergency number is available 24 hours a day and the other is active during business hours and always responded to right away. We hope you give us another chance next year to show you just how amazing we can be!!!

Very clean unit. Easy check in. Beds were comfortable. Parking is very limited to one small car. Only draw back is you are behind the golf cart rentals and it is very noisy very early in the morning. If you are an only riser this place is for you.

This is a retraction of my prior feedback. Apparently my review went to the owner unknowingly instead of the property manager. He came by and checked the air unit and was super nice. He explained everything and asked if we had any other questions about the house. I am apologizing for jumping the gun on my first day in. My life is just this way and we told him the same. We are going to make the best of this week and it’s just been made better by his visit!!! *Still trying to figure out how to work the satellite on the main tv. Great house, but not so great parking

I gave this rental 4 stars instead of 5 because although our family loved the house, the parking was not ideal. We drive a Yukon and my son drives an HHR. We could barely fit the Yukon into the drive and my son ended up having to park his car down at the end of the street in the neighbor's lot. Luckily for us, we actually knew the neighbors and they didn't have an issue with us doing this, but I'm not sure what we would have done otherwise. Also, my husband had to back our Yukon all the way out of the drive and up to the next street every time we went somewhere because there was no way to turn it around. I just feel that renters should be made aware of the parking limitations prior to booking because if we had known about this situation prior, we would have just parked my son's car outside of the campground and saved ourselves $56 in parking fees. As for the house, it was very nice and we enjoyed being right on the lake. My daughter's loved the hot tub. Overall, we had a great week and would recommend this house to others as long as they are made aware of the parking limitations in advance.

Hey Wanda - we are sorry to hear about your family's parking issues. I must say I was kind of surprised to read this, as most families that stay here have AT LEAST 2 cars (many SUVs) and we've never had one say they had an issue parking in the driveway. The space in front of the golf cart building is small - so you could only get a small car in that spot - but the driveway space under the back canopy has housed many a crew cab truck and Suburban/Yukon XL vehicles:) Also - there is an overflow lot (that's mentioned on the Ocean Lakes parking form and pointed out upon arrival) that is conveniently located right around the corner, about 300 feet from the house. Hopefully you will come stay with us again and we can make sure to point this lot out to save you some hassle!!!
