Week at the beach
5/5 stars
The property was very nice. Plentiful items stocked in the kitchen, extra pillows for sleeping and most everything you need was available. The outdoor patio area is pleasant and shady so it was nice to sit outside any time of the day. We ate outside several days and it was very pleasant. The pool area is BEAUTIFUL as is the general property. Nice tennis courts, And the pool and property manager were very nice. The only down side was that Some of the furniture is a little tired feeling and it would be nice to replace some of the older items, but it wasn’t unusable.

Beach Stay
3/5 stars
We rented this home with another family in August. The property amenities were great (the pool was recently remodeled, the beach was steps away and they included beach chairs/umbrellas which were really convenient). They're strict at the pool (rightfully so) as long as you follow the rules, there's no issues. The manor house was closed because of the pandemic so I cannot comment. The location was walking distance to great restaurants. The house is outdated as can be seen in the pictures and we had some issues with the cleaning company but the property manager addressed those concerns with us.

A nice getaway to Dewey Beach
5/5 stars
Seagate 18 is a three story townhouse about a 3min walk from the beach. There is *no* water view, it is ocean block. There is a lot of room, it is nice to have a bathroom on every floor for showering after being on the beach. There is no hose or faucet at the house to rinse off, however. You must rinse off at the main Seagate hose/shower down by the pool. We had a lot of trouble with the gate locks. The code did not work for us at all. There is an interior path through the Seagate property to access the tennis courts and pool that you can use to skip these gates, but there's no information on this path unless you ask. From house 18, you cross the parking lot and turn right on to a sidewalk with slate paving stones. We thought it was for the houses over there, but it takes you to the tennis court and pool. To use the tennis court, there is an online sign up genius form. Ask the property owner for the link. The pools are really nice, warm and clean. BUT they are only open from 10-10, and the lifeguard will ask you to stop boisterous play. No jumping in, no wild splashing, etc. Our kids are ages 10, 13, and 15 and found ways to have fun that didn't violate the rules. The beach shack will set up chairs and umbrellas for you for free. (don't forget to tip!!) The umbrellas go away at 5, but with the code you can keep the chairs longer. You can buy snacks and hot dogs from the shack. The dryer did not work for us. The dishwasher was finicky but worked. Convenient to East of Maui for renting boogie boards, also convenient to a farm market for fresh produce. Both are within walking distance. The property is a short drive from Rehoboth. The wifi was good, the courtyard was a nice place to relax. We did not use any of the extra perks offered through Xplorie. Beach yoga wasn't within walking distance, the bike shop wasn't renting, the board sports were down on bayside in Dewey. The property owner was very responsive to our questions and requests.

Great location and amazing pool
5/5 stars
We stayed at 18 Seagate for a week at the end of July and had a great time. The house was in good condition and and had a very nice patio that easily accommodated 10 people. The inside of the unit was a little dated as you can see in the pictures but we didn’t mind. Very short walk to the beach and the pool was recently updated with white marble that was amazing. We had 4 kids under 5 and the lifeguard does watch you like a hawk as the other reviews mentioned. One parent per kid and you have to be with an arms length at all times. We didn’t seem to care because our kids were well behaved. Great location in Dewey in a quiet section and was a walking distance to the bars and restaurants.

Some good, mostly bad
2/5 stars
Just finished our week in unit 18 at Seagate. Our experience there overall was not that great, but I don’t want to be completely negative. The location is great, and our unit had a nice little outdoor area that we used frequently. Otherwise, this particular unit is very basic. Very dated, not all that clean, and just not overly impressive relative to the cost. Other units I believe are updated and much nicer. They have these great beachside pools (which is somewhat unique to this area and clearly a huge selling point for these units), but the sheer volume of rules and regulations makes them hard to enjoy if you have children. Just to list a few... no jumping into the pool, no throwing balls, no splashing, and no doing anything that the staff deems excessively loud. Understand that these rules are STRICTLY enforced, to the point that it really feels oppressive and negatively affects time spent using the facilities. It is fairly clear that there is tension between renters and the majority of the owners who do not rent out their places, and the staff makes no effort at making renters feel welcome whatsoever. So overall, very nice pool and location, but basic living accommodations and an atmosphere that we found to be unpleasant at best. We have been coming to this area for 20 years, and there are much nicer places to stay at this price point. Lastly, I should stress that YOU SHOULD NOT STAY HERE IF YOU HAVE YOUNG CHILDREN.
- Eric

These circumstances were very unfortunate. Everything was fine until the tenant and his very young child were found to be using the pool off hours and after which the pool was forced to close for a lengthy period to be sanitized. The tenant was not happy, nor was local management. Seagate does have a stricter than usual policy when it comes to pool area management. Owners are sensitive to this. Everyone understands that it's a pool in the middle of the summer. However, parents are expected to closely monitor their children for excessive noise or other inappropriate behavior. The photographs of the home are contemporary and the home is entirely up to date with appliances, counter tops and bathrooms. The living room decor is beachy. The house was professionally cleaned and rarely if ever incurs criticism.

Seagate #18
4/5 stars
We had a great stay at villa #18 in Seagate. The villa had plenty of room for our group of 8. It was clean enough for a beach house. My only critique is that the villa looks like it could use a good deep cleaning. Some grout by the sink and in showers had black on it and there was soap scum on the shower doors. Also, weeds need sprayed in the outdoor garden area. However, the outdoor space was wonderful, we spent much time out there. Perfectly shaded so it was nice even on sunny warm days. A quick walk to the two pools and beach. The pools only ever had a few other people at a time and mostly we were the only ones in the pools. It was great! And they were heated too which was a huge plus. Seagate staff (Rhonda and lifeguards) were very nice although at first we felt like we were being watched closely because we were renters and almost all of the villas are private and not ever rented out. By the end of the week we felt like part of the community. Overall, excellent rental and we would definitely stay here again.

18 Seagate
5/5 stars
Our group of 6 adults and 4 children under 3 had a great time. The house was nice and clean as advertised by the pictures. The private courtyard was great and allowed the children to play outside without the worry of them running off into the parking lot or street. The pools were great and the Manor house was beautiful. The house is in a great quiet location and only a few minute walk to downtown. The only issue we had and it was not even an issue but there is a lack of pantry/storage space for food/paper products. We would definitely stay here again.

2015 Family Vacation
4/5 stars
My family thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at Seagate 18 in Dewey Beach. The accommodations were just perfect for our group. The condo was very clean and well appointed, especially in the kitchen. There was a minor issue with water backup in a tub on the first day and the owner immediately addressed it (very personable). One of our favorite things about this unit is the private outdoor courtyard. We hung out there ALL the time. The 2 pools were awesome. We had a 3 and 9 yr old with us and we all hung out with them in the Kids Pool as it was so big. The only constructive feedback I have is that some of the pool staff could be more accommodating to those of us that rent vs own (like helping out with opening an umbrella over a table)....I get the obvious reasons.......but it shouldn't BE obvious to the renter :) Great place and I would return.

Cullen #18 was great! Location to beach and pool were convenient because we had some occupants with physical difficulties. Rhonda was very helpful. Only disappointments were no key when we arrived, load banging noise in upstairs hallway when air conditioning turned on, no propane in gas grill, that's about it. But Paul may want to address the mold on the outside of the complex...just a suggestion. May rent again next year. Will let you know. Thanks Jeremy.

Good place
5/5 stars
I will try my best to keep this factual and state the pros and cons Pro -Our unit was a 1/2 block from the beach which is a very short walk. -The unit itself was nice and clean upon arrival. -The unit was as pictured in photos -There are no decks but a very nice private courtyard that is great for keeping beach stuff with you but not in the house and great for outside meals of 6-8 people. -The community is very quiet -There are two pools with the community that are directly behind the dune. Shallow baby pool and 9ft deep pool. -There is a manor house, which feels like a club house at a country club. -There is a very nice tennis court. -Very close to dewey, 7 min walk to all the places to eat. -still pretty close to Rehobeth, a short bike ride, or even a medium length walk. -There is a breakfast in the weekends for all which is coffee, juice, bagels with a large variety of spreads, and muffins. Cons -This is not a laid back beach community, this is for upper the echelon of society. This may not be a con if that is what you are looking for. -There is distinctly different treatment and feel for "renters" as compared to owners. -A lot of rules and regulations, again this does keep everyone in check but to me felt a bit restrictive. i.e. the pool table was only available to guests over 13 years of age. -The staff are extremely vigilant about making sure no beach toys go into the pool, making sure every bit of sand is off of you before getting in the pool, and making sure you are bone dry when going into the manner house. -It's a condo/townhome community which is stated, but with this there is only 2 car parking. Again, as to be expected at the beach. Summary- It's a nice place and close to beach, but it can feel a bit snobby. All the cars are high just like a country club. If this is what you are looking for then this is the place for you. The unit is nice but not amazing, but then again the pics show this. Not cheap, but you already know that. I loved the quiet and easy access to the beach, but could do without the owners or staff. Basically we just hit the beach and did our own thing and had a blast.

Memorial Day Weekend Trip
5/5 stars
A few friends rented this place for the weekend and really enjoyed the stay. The location was perfect for our group. A short walk to all the bars and restaurants and just steps away from the beach. The booking process was easy and check in and check out were also simple. Looking forward to coming back in the future.
