Reviews

Great locations but needs some updating
5/5 stars
This condo is in a great location: walking location to shops and restaurants, very close to the beach and has a less crowded beach area than other places. The condo has a different layout. Not bad- just different. The main living area is on the second floor, so if you can’t do multiple sets of stairs, this is not for you. We booked a very last minute trip (on Memorial Day weekend) so we were mainly looking for clean and good location. We got that. However, this condo could use some sprucing up and updating. Carpet needs replacing, new paint, siding falling off outside which caused it to slap the side of the third floor master bedroom all night in the wind, the sliding patio door is broken and very hard to open and close, upstairs toilet runs constantly, and the front door/lock needs to be worked on (it closes and locks- but with some effort). The downstairs bedroom is the garage with no windows. The beds are clean, the kitchen is nicely stocked, has a nice (partial) view of the ocean from the balcony, very close walk to the beach, and a large, uncrowded pool.

Seahaunts 8A "Sea for Yourself"
1/5 stars
'Sea for Yourself' property has SO much great potential but it was sadly a disappointment beginning with our very first steps into the home. Upon arrival to the Sea Haunts complex, we were excited when we saw the beautiful landscaping, gated entrance and easy pool/beach access. Unfortunately, that's where the excitement ended. The house it incredibly run down and outdated. It is evident that there have not been any updates or upgrades to any features of the home in a VERY long time, if ever. Exterior has siding falling off, leaky windows and there is not enough space to park two SUVs in front of the house. The interior was the biggest let down; the carpets are absolutely disgusting, the basement bedroom (aka garage) bed is so bad that we had to buy our own mattress topper, and the kitchen pans/utensils are the worst that I've ever experienced. Additionally, the upstairs bathroom toilet needs to be repaired or replaced due to constant running. I also noticed what appeared to be mouse poop in the kitchen cabinets. On day one, we realized that the dryer didn't work so we contacted Maintenace. Maintenace arrived on day 3 and determined they could not fix the problem without ordering a part or a whole new dryer. Needless to say, we were left without a dryer all week. We did request clean bath towels on day 4 since we couldn't wash our own, thankfully those were quickly delivered to us. Wifi was spotty and required constant unplugging and rebooting. Other frustrations, likely beyond the owners control include construction on next door property that began before 8am every morning and residents complaining that we had 2 cars and a golf cart. The golf cart and one car fit in one parking spot in front of the house and the other car was in guest parking. We never took up more than two spots. We ended up moving one car to our friend's house that they were renting most of the week. We would like to stay at Sea Haunts complex again but we would not stay in this unit unless it received new flooring, paint, and basic upgrades to bedrooms and bathrooms.

Sea Haunts 8A was great for our needs. Property was clean and had everything we needed. Location was perfect. We were able to walk to dinner most nights. Would definitely consider staying again.

Great price for the location!
5/5 stars
Super convenient location if you have littles, very close to pool and beach access. Nice to have a room with no windows for the baby to sleep. Great price for the amount of room and location. Itrip was very responsive, we will definitely be booking through them again.

What a great experience! Condo was in a fantastic location - easy walk to the beach and a couple of local restaurants, quick drive up 30A for many more options! All pertinent info (gate/door/pool codes) were included in one email. The condo itself was well-stocked with beach supplies, kitchen tools for a couple of home meals, plenty of fluffy towels, and room to spread out. Looking forward to my next visit! :)

Nope.

We were looking forward to staying here, based on other reviews. Well, the bathrooms were clean I can say that. And the walk across the parking lot to the beach and pool was easy. However, this townhome needs a complete overhaul and DEEP clean. Several rooms had chipping/cracking paint. The carpet needs to go- Stained & disgusting in every room and on stairs. The curtain rod over the sliding glass door (in main living space) is falling out of the wall. The furniture in the main living space is stained and dirty. I wanted to sit on towels. The cushioned furniture on the porch was broken causing you fall through the bottom when you sit in it. Dishes in cabinets, the cabinets themselves and countertops had a layer of grime upon arrival. Master bathroom sink and kitchen sink are slow to drain. Doing maintenance on vacation was not fun. Neither is waiting on a maintenance guy to come, hence taking care of it ourselves. Another red flag: fans in the bedrooms both ceiling and plug in kinds. Glad we had those as the air conditioner is not sufficient enough to cool all three levels...kitchen/den freezing but downstairs and upstairs bedrooms hot and uncomfortable. Dishwasher smells foul causing all the dishes to stink and does a LOUSY job cleaning. Rental was supposed to include access to a private beach. Someone should let the Walton County beach patrol know that as we were told to move our beach set up because we were on “public” beach space (even though we were directly in front of the complex’s “private” beach.) The mattress in the master bedroom needs to be replaced. It has huge “valleys” in it and is terribly uncomfortable. The kitchen ceiling has a hole in the drywall and bits of it fall off. The WIFI is not great. All the TVs were unplugged upon arrival, requiring my husband to reconnect all cables and trouble shoot to get it working. The owners should take my $3000 rental fees from this week and use it to upgrade/fix/repair this townhome prior to renting again.

Sparkling ocean, sparkling clean town home
5/5 stars
iTrip representatives - reservations and local property management- were exceptional to work with and very responsive. The unobstructed view of the Gulf from the upper floors and the short walk to both the beach and heated pool were definitely the highlights. The home was built in the 1980s with builder grade finishes, and some upgrades are scheduled/some windows and carpets need replacement, but it had been well cleaned and prepared for our arrival. There are modern appliances, comfortable mattresses and furnishings, fluffy towels and nice linens, and a well stocked kitchen for cooking at home. My only caveat would be that the lower level was considerably cooler in Jan and Feb, even when the heat was on, so the garage conversion bedroom (no window) and the futon might not be ideal in the winter months. (A heater is provided.) The whole of 30A is experiencing a construction/ renovation boom, including the Seahaunts complex, and that occasionally took away from the serenity of the place, but there is still nowhere like this piece of paradise. There are excellent restaurants within walking distance or a short drive away. I highly recommend iTrip and this unit; I know the area and the rate charged is competitive, fair and good value. Enjoy the view and sunsets on the beach!

Bargain townhouse a short walk from the beach
4/5 stars
Location, location, location! This townhouse is in a great spot one row back from the white sugar sands of Santa Rosa Beach as well as just a couple of blocks away from great shopping and restaurants. The townhouse itself is on the older side and could use some updates, which makes it feel a little grungy even when it’s clean. It also feels a good bit smaller than the pictures portray, particularly in the bathrooms. The downstairs bedroom is a closed-in garage and has no closet or window and is next to the tiniest full bathroom I’ve ever seen. The master bedroom, on the other hand is cavernous, and should really lend some square footage to the small bathroom it shares with the other upstairs bedroom. We had a really hard time regulating the temperature in the house so that the person in the small upstairs bedroom wasn’t frozen while everyone else was sweating. On the positive side, the living/dining/kitchen area has a great layout which makes it feel pretty spacious. Also, the water pressure was amazing in every shower, which I find to be rare in rental homes, and the house was pretty well stocked with linens and kitchen items. I do wish that beach chairs and beach towels were provided, but on the whole, I would say that we at least got what we paid for.

Thank you very much for staying with us! We are aware this is not the newest unit in the area, but we feel as though it is fairly priced and that the photographs accurately reflect the condition of the unit. We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay, and we hope to host you again!
