4th Street House
5/5 stars
Our stay was excellent with check in being very easy due to an entry code rather than a manual key. The location to beach was so close and the ample parking allowed all of our guests to be off the street. The house was clean and neat with everything working fine with only a little problem with the a/c in the living room area not keeping up with the intense heat ( 90+) but it was still very comfortable- just a little above the set point

Lovely Stay in Bethany Beach
5/5 stars
The house was extremely well-located, only mintues from the beach and a short walk further to downtown Bethany, where there were many restaurants and amusements. As for the house itself, the main room was very spacious and provided many places to eat and relax. The five bedrooms and four bathrooms offered more than enough room for our extended family of 9, with a good assortment of sleeping arrangements. Generally, the stay was excellent and we would strongly consider staying there again for a future trip.

Convenient but requires some care
3/5 stars
Stayed at 117 4th Street with family for a week with 4 kids and 7 adults. Overall the house which has plenty of space, allows your dogs, and is close to the beach is a good find - it does require some significant updates, but nothing that will hinder your stay. Start off with the good: Convenient and close to the beach, street was safe to walk on and it was a short walk with all of our beach necessities - -House has 4 decent size bedrooms 2 with bunkbed and single bed and then 2 rooms with queen beds and attached bathroom.- - There were also 2 other bathrooms. - -House had a nice common area space - single floor which was nice for the kids and older adults - - Enough parking for easily 4-5 cars in front and back- - Allowed for our dogs to join us - nice areas to walk around Some opportunity for improvement:__- House is in need of TLC - beds are definitely older and excessively used and not very comfortable (definitely bring your own sheets), older appliances, TVs in most rooms don't work, except for living room - - Steps to deck not easy to ascend and with low over hang as you go up make the top deck virtually useless for anyone that isn't able to crouch down at the top and easily walk down- - House wasn't well cleaned and had some damage to it which was reported to property manager
- Mike

We're glad you had a nice trip regardless of the issues. The home is cleaned professionally and a cleaning issue was not reported. The owner has been made aware of the TV issues. Thank you!

Good location, sub par property
2/5 stars
The location of this rental home is great; however the house and leaves much to be desired. Upon arrival on a Saturday we were informed that the dishwasher was broken - A rep from "Appliance Dr." was sent out on Tuesday evening and informed us that the dishwasher motor was broken and could not be fixed because he didn't have the part. With 10 people we were not happy to have to wash dishes by hand the entire trip. Additional items of note, which sent to our property manager during the stay: * several light bulbs out in main living area- we found some extra bulbs in utility closet and replaced the lights we could reach without a ladder * dryer was not drying well- upon inspection we discovered that the lint filter visible below the house was completely clogged- this was very concerning as it is a fire hazard! We cleaned the filter. * fridge light bulb burnt out, water leaking in fridge * washer off balance- very loud when running * beds very lumpy / uncomfortable * sink drain stopper stopped working in one bathroom * spiral stair steps and railing loose and rusty, concerned with structural integrity * outdoor porch railing wobbly which I noticed due to our elderly guest leaning on it Overall very disappointed by the state of the property and lack of upkeep. We decided to leave a day early.

So close to the beach…
4/5 stars
The main feature of this house is its proximity to the beach. Large enough to hold 2 families comfortably. The 5 bedrooms are a plus! The house is very dated inside, but the beds are comfortable, the bedrooms are SUPER quiet, and the house is well equipped. Stay here to be a 2 min walk to the beach!

Great house - great week!
4/5 stars
We had a great week at this house. The location is great - you can't beat the short walk to the beach, and we were still close to the shops. It appears that things have been updated a bit since the photos in the listing and the house was very comfortable. There were plenty of dishes, silverware, and cookware for our family. We did have an issue when we arrived and there no longer was a pull-out queen sofa bed in the den (different furniture than the picture). However, Jeremy from Delaware Vacation Property Management answered my call on the first ring and was extremely helpful. I explained the problem and he said he would see what he could do. Within 20 minutes he texted that cots would be delivered within the hour - and they were. You have to be careful if you go up to the roof deck because you have to duck under a part of the roof that hangs over, and we never figured out how to get the water temperature in the outdoor shower below scalding, but overall we loved the house and would definitely return in the future.

Fantastic location!
4/5 stars
Walk to the beach! Was great to bring our dogs. Lots of space inside and out! Kitchen well stocked with utensils, pots, pans, gadgets and appliances. Good internet and Dish TV. Maybe because we were the last people to rent this season (last week of September), the place is in need of some TLC – deep cleaning and deck/railing repairs. Also, the living area/kitchen/den got extremely warm (80+) every afternoon. But overall we enjoyed it very much.

Great price for a practical home in an amazing location!
5/5 stars
We really enjoyed our stay at 117th 4th St. The home is very practical and clean. It is just half a block from the beach! We took full advantage of this by taking morning and night walks on the beach, in addition to spending a good chunk of our time in the ocean. It is also walking distance from the boardwalk, restaurants and other amenities. Definitely recommend this property!

Great location
4/5 stars
The proximity to the beach and to the town of Bethany are the best part of staying here. The home itself has a central combined family room, kitchen, dining area, with high pitched roof and ceiling fan. It is a great room to gather for family dinners, movies and games. There are 5 bedrooms 4 bathrooms and 2 outdoor showers which provides plenty of individual space for 2 families of 5. The roof deck is also a fun place to hang after the beach. Allowing pets was an added perk so we didn’t need to leave them at home. We had to call them because the dryer was not working and they responded quickly, not only did they buy and install a new dryer they also offered us free activity tickets for our inconvenience. Kudos for the prompt customer service. There were many utensils , blenders and 2 coffee makers. No shortage of bowls, pots pans and dishes, but not a lot of spare room for groceries. All in all a great vacation, comfortable house, convenient and accommodating. We would return again and do recommend this property and management.

A very comfortable and usable beach house!
5/5 stars
6/20/20-6/27/20 We spent a great week at 117 4th St. The location is fantastic, about 1/2 block from the beach and a short walk into town. There are 5 bedrooms total, 2 masters with queen beds, new mattresses delivered while we were there, and 3 rooms with a combination of bunks and twins. The kitchen is very well stocked with most anything you could need to prepare a quick meal or a complete dinner for 10 or more. There’s lots of room to spread out. It was great to be at the beach after sheltering in place for the past several months. Everyone was social distancing on the beach. All the shops and restaurants require you to wear masks but they aren’t necessary at the beach. All in all, 117 4th is a comfortable house in a great location, we would definitely come back again.

A lovely week at 117 Fourth St.
5/5 stars
The house was lovely and spacious in an absolutely optimal location. Every imaginable accommodation was there. Easy walk to the beach, boardwalk, shops, and restaurants in quiet Bethany!! The end of the beach we were on was not at all crowded in spite of peak season. It is hard to envision a more restful time. Nice touches included spacious driveway, one outside shower with a excellent water flow and shower head as well as private separate shower and dressing space, and a coded locking-unlocking door system eliminating the need for keys. As a former owner of a rental house at the shore, I have a few gentle suggestions: The queen mattress in the second bedroom (not the master) desperately needs replacement. The person who initially chose this room was not able to stay there. The door stop on the front door is broken. I believe we paid for linen service in the contract but were instructed at the last minute to bring our own linens which we did. A bit of a surprise. First shower outside had almost no water flow - an inconvenience to the first (and last) user.
- Anne

So glad you enjoyed the week! Thank you for the note about the mattress and the door stop. The mattress has been replaced.

Five years in a row
4/5 stars
Our family of seven has been coming to this house five years running. While it's not as spectacular in appearance or amenities as other nearby homes, its prime location (less than a block to the beach), accommodation of dogs, and plentiful parking is a huge plus for our four-car, two-dog family. This year we stayed for two weeks instead of our usual one week visit, and we'll probably be back next year, too. Jeremy is very responsive, the house is comfortable, and you just can't beat the location if you have to bring your dog on vacation with you!

Bethany Beach

We had a very nice week here with family. Town is bustling with many choices, and about a :15 walk away. The beach was very nice, pretty close, about ten minutes. Must pay for parking in town, but we rarely took the car. Home was fine, with a well-stocked kitchen, and good air conditioning during a very hot July week. A top floor porch to look around, and an outdoor shower and foot-hose. Would stay here again; the July 4 fireworks were just great with our close seat. Beach got crowded/busy, but could still find a spot.

Great place Almost...
3/5 stars
All in all we really loved this house. It was spacious enough to accommodate our large family and really well equipped. The beach and town were a short walk. Our only problem was that on the first day we noticed that the dishwasher was not working. We contacted our iTrip contact Jeremy (who was awesome) to report the problem. He contacted the owner who was supposed to get back to us to triage the issue. He never called us and we never had a working dishwasher. That's not cool considering the number of people we had in the home. We were finally notified on our last day of vacation that a repair service was coming. I was really disappointed. For what we paid, I expected at least better communication from the owner. This would be a 5 star rating if it weren't for this issue.

Fee Fo Review
3/5 stars
The place was close to the beach and town and allowed pets. The main reason we chose to pay the high rent for this house was that it allows dogs. The house was adequate. The dishwasher broke the second day we were there and after several phone calls we were told the owner would contact us. No one ever called or came to look at the dishwasher until the day we checked out. With a house full of people on vacation this was not acceptable to at least have someone look at the dishwasher. This was very disappointing and we expected a higher level of service.

Pictures don't do it justice
4/5 stars
We just had a great week at Bethany and found the house had everything we needed. From the photos, things look a bit dated but the interior was nicer than expected. Plenty of room for the 2 families on the trip, and the single floor layout worked well to keep an eye on the littlest ones. My only complaints are the soft beds (by the end of the week our backs were killing us) and the lack of room darkening blinds in the bedrooms.

Close to the Beach
4/5 stars
The house worked out quite nicely. I was glad we had the extra parking in the back, the kitchen was very well supplied, and the LR/DR/sunroom was spacious enough for the whole bunch. It was just a short walk to the shops on Garfield Parkway, and everyone was happy with how close we were to the beach, especially those with little ones. We never could figure out how to get the 2 bunk rooms comfortable enough at night without freezing the end bedroom. The spiral staircase should probably be replaced, and several of the wooden posts on the stairway handrail were loose. The only other thing - it seemed like whenever the water was turned on or a toilet flushed, the lights flickered. That was kind of weird. We were lucky to find such a nice place that was close to the beach, allowed the dog, and had enough bedrooms and baths for my whole family. Even the approaching Hurricane Jose didn't dampen our fun.

Family Reunion 2017
5/5 stars
We were a family group of 3 generations, age range 23-83. We also had our 2 family dogs with us. This home was great for us. The grandparents did fine on the stairs to the home. Everyone loved being so close to the beach and town. We walked everywhere. There was plenty of parking. Inside the home we had lots of room to spread out and feel comfortable- we were not on top of each other. The kitchen, dining and living area is open and spacious. There is everything you need and then some for any and all cooking you might want to do. We opened the windows and enjoyed the ocean breeze and the cool evenings. It was great to be able to bring our family dogs- they are mature and settled and just enjoy being with the family. We hope to have another family reunion at the beach and would definitely stay here again.

Great location, lots of beds, working A/C, great rooftop deck and plenty of space for eating/watching tv. Everything's a little older in the home, but you're right next to the beach.

Loved the location, space, the fact that it had 5 bedrooms & lots of beds. It was the most well supplied kitchen of any rental I have ever had. Lots of space to park several cars too! I also loved that I could take my dog with me! Not happy that the house had not been cleaned, 1 toilet wasn't working, wifi didn't work all week, and TV in sun room only worked the first 1.5 days.

Great week great place

Loved the entire week especially the crows nest. Had coffee in the morning and some late night cocktails up there. Very spacious and loved the multiple bathrooms. Only complaint was the matresses were very soft. Other than that wouldn't change a thing. Thanks for sharing your home. Mike Carey

We enjoyed our stay at this property! The location was perfect. It was close enough to to the beach and boardwalk to walk, and far enough for peace and quiet. We had our extended family all there to celebrate my in-laws 50 the wedding anniversary! Plenty of space, beds, and bathrooms! The outside showers are great! My only complaint was that the air conditioning couldn't keep up. We did call Jeremy and he had someone come out the next day. Also, there was a storm that knocked out the TV. The TV never got fixed, and someone did come for the AC, it needed to be charged. Things happen, but one of the perks of this place was the DISH TV. My father in law is 77 and likes to watch TV when it's too hot to stay outside. Also, I felt the rate was fair for the location and accommodations, but if I'm paying $4000/week, it would be nice if the AC is checked before I get there. Other than that, we enjoyed this house very much. We spent time outside grilling and enjoying the covered area under the deck. We had coffee every morning on the roof top. It was a wonderful vacation.

Almost Perfect
4/5 stars
This property is great if all you are looking for is the very basics "no frills". It is close to beach (reasonable walk) but you really can't see or hear it; it provides enough bathrooms for a large group and outdoor showers are great. Lots of parking on property for guests. Major issue is if you have very hot days during your stay AC does not keep up with the heat. Also watch out for poison ivy growing around back of house!

Enjoyable Stay
4/5 stars
The house absolutely met our needs. Plenty of space for a multi-family visit and terrific access to the beach and plenty of parking for our vehicles. The A/C and appliances all worked great and the house was well equipped for meal prep and relaxation. We felt the price was appropriate - a bit cheaper than more modern houses, but a very nice stay all-around.

Observations
4/5 stars
117 4th avenue in Bethany is wonderfully accommodating for a large gathering of adults and kids. The common area has plenty of space for dining and relaxing. Minor issues besides leaky disposal and condition under the sink (rusting cans, crud, wet wooden bottom): -WiFi didn't extend to rooms in the back -Dryer lint trap is VERY difficult to manipulate -- it's distorted from attempts to remove and replace it -The clothes line poles appear to be ready to topple over and the growth under the lines make them almost inaccessible

We had a wonderful time sharing the house with our sister's families. We were happy to take our dog. There was a dog park nearby. The neighborhood was very friendly. The house location was perfect. We also went to Ocean City and Rohobith. It was bigger than we thought and had room for 6 cars. It needs some minor wear and tear repairs, mostly the deck railing. However, everything was in working order.

Nice place, close to the beach
4/5 stars
Enjoyed the house, especially the 2 outdoor showers and rooftop deck. There is plenty of room for 4-5 cars. We had a great time -- the house was great being so close to the beach. The house has a large entertaining area. Each of the master bedrooms have a private bathroom. All of the rooms were spread out, so you couldn't necessarily hear the room next to you. All were a good size.
